Google Fax

by Matt Gerchow
Google fax has a number of benefits for your company and you can try the service free without any obligation. You can fax from your current email account. If you do not have one or are not satisfied with the service of the provider you are currently using, then you can obtain a free Gmail account from Google in just a few moments of your time. Once that is done, select a fax provider from the many online providers. Many offer free trials for 30 days, such as RingCentral. They will furnish you with an online fax number. This can be a number with a local area code or a toll-free number. International numbers are also available.
Google fax is easy to use
If you can send an email, you can send a Google fax. (They are pretty much the same thing.) Just click on the compose mail icon in your email account. Put the recipients 10-number fax without any punctuation into the address line, followed by serviceprovideraddress. Copy your document into the message area, or attach one or more files for faxing. If you have special instructions, your provider will explain how to request that they be followed. Then send the email. Your provider will fax the document immediately or at another time if you so choose. You will receive confirmation when the fax transmission is complete. There is nothing to monitor on your part.
What about incoming faxes?
They will go directly into you email inbox. From there you can forward them elsewhere, copy them to your computer or store them online. You can set it up so you get notification immediately when a fax arrives in your inbox.
Once you experience the convenience, you can choose a permanent service plan to meet your fax management needs. It will be a lot less expensive than maintaining a fax landline, paying long distance charges and providing paper and ink for your old fax machine.
